Track which influencer, employee or channel brought in each order

Tab Promo's share links give each promoter, such as an influencer, employee, store or channel, their own link to a campaign, and count the paid orders placed after a shopper opens it. You see orders, sales, refunds and net sales after refunds per link, per promoter and per campaign. The numbers show which link an order came through, not how many extra sales the promotion caused.

Counted toward Maya · Influencer

The link applies the code and saves the promoter to the cart.
Example store and numbers. Share links report attributed sales, not lift: which link an order came through, not whether it would have happened anyway.

Influencer with a code

Code campaign SUMMER15 → link for Maya (Influencer), landing on /collections/summer

The link applies the code for the shopper. Paid orders placed after opening it count toward Maya.

Staff in your stores

Three Employee promoters, each with a link to the same automatic campaign

The Promoters tab shows each employee’s orders and net sales after refunds side by side.

Channels compared

Newsletter and Instagram bio set up as Channel promoters, one link each

Overview lists the top promoters and links for the dates you pick, next to the prior period.

Order without the offer

A shopper opens Maya’s link but the cart is below the offer’s minimum

No discount applies, and the order still counts toward Maya.

Setup

How to set it up.

  1. Turn on site-wide messaging. On the Storefront page, follow Activate site-wide messaging to turn on the Floating offers app embed in your live theme. Orders are only counted while it is on, and the Share links page shows "Turn on Tab Promo in your theme" when it is off.
  2. Add your promoters. Open Share links, go to the Promoters tab and click Add promoter. Enter a unique name and a type: Employee, Store, Influencer, Channel or Other.
  3. Create a link. Click Create link, then pick the Campaign, the Promoter (or Add a new promoter) and a Landing page path such as /collections/all. Each promoter gets one link per campaign.
  4. Copy and share it. On the Links tab, click Copy link and send it to the promoter. A link for a discount-code campaign shows Not ready yet until the campaign is published and its code is live.
  5. Read the results. The Overview tab shows Orders, Sales, Refunds, Cancelled and Net sales after refunds, plus daily sales and top promoters, links and campaigns. Use Download CSV to export sales per link.

Good to know

Where it stops.

  • Share links report attributed sales, not lift: they show which link an order came through, not whether the order would have happened anyway.
  • Links can be copied and forwarded. Anyone who opens a promoter’s link counts toward that promoter, and when a shopper opens two links, the last one opened gets the order.
  • A shopper who types the discount code without opening the link is not counted toward any promoter.
  • Only paid online store orders are counted, and only while the Floating offers app embed (or a custom theme using the Storefront SDK) saves the link to the cart.
  • Report days follow UTC, and each currency is reported separately.

FAQ

Common questions.

Do I need a discount code to use share links?

No. Links work for automatic-discount and discount-code campaigns. For a code campaign, the link applies the code for the shopper. Purchase-requirements-only and archived campaigns cannot have links.

Does a share link change who gets the discount?

No. The link only records where the order came from. Who qualifies and how much they save are decided by the campaign rules.

Do orders count if the shopper did not use the offer?

Yes. Every paid order placed through the link counts toward the promoter, even when the cart did not qualify for the discount. Campaign reports track offer use separately.

How are refunds and cancellations handled?

Net sales after refunds subtracts refunds and cancelled orders, so a promoter’s total goes down when their orders are refunded.

What if a link gets shared somewhere it should not be?

Delete it and create a new link for the same promoter and campaign. The old link stops counting new orders, and the orders it already brought in stay in your reports.

What happens if I change the campaign’s discount code?

Links already shared still carry the old code and show Code changed. Copy the link again, send it to the promoter, then choose I’ve shared the new code from the link’s menu.
