BOGO and Buy X Get Y offers on Shopify

Setup

How to set it up.

1. Create a campaign. Click Create campaign and pick the Second item half price template, or start blank and add a rule with the Buy X get Y action.
2. Set what the shopper buys. Choose the qualifying items (all products, specific products, or a collection) and how many must be bought.
3. Set the reward. Choose "Same as purchase items" or "Specific reward items", how many items are rewarded, and the reward as percentage off or fixed amount off.
4. Preview against a real order. Run Preview with a recent test order ID to see exactly which line and how many units get the discount.
5. Publish. Open Publish, resolve any errors, and click Publish now. It goes live after Shopify confirms it.

Good to know

Where it stops.

• The reward always goes to the cheapest qualifying items. You cannot choose to discount the most expensive item instead.
• Tab Promo does not add the reward item to the cart for the shopper. They add it themselves; if you want an item placed in the cart as a gift, use a free gift instead.
• Buy items and reward items must either be the same ("Same as purchase items") or two separate lists of the same kind, such as two collections. "All products", exclusions, or products on one side and collections on the other are rejected when you publish.
