Tab Commerce

Buy 1, Buy 2, Buy 3 — inside your own Add to cart

Tab Upsell & Bundles adds quantity breaks to a Shopify product page: Buy 1 at the regular price, then up to three more tiers up to Buy 9, shown inside the product page’s own Add to cart. Each later tier can stay at the regular price or take a bundle total, an amount off or a percentage off, and shoppers pick a variant for every unit, so a Buy 3 can mix sizes. The saving is applied by a Shopify discount on the real product, with no extra product or SKU.

Plan: Free — 50 Online Store orders every 30 days; Starter — $49/month for unlimited orders. Quantity breaks work on every plan.

Examples

Offers you can set up today.

Buy more, save more

Buy 1 regular price · Buy 2 10% off · Buy 3 15% off

The shopper chooses Buy 2 and picks a size for each unit. The 10% comes off the regular price of the two variants picked.

Three for one price

Buy 1 regular price · Buy 3 bundle total $60

Any three allowed variants cost $60 together. Under the tier, the block shows the price per unit.

Mixed sizes in one pack

Buy 4, 20% off, all variants allowed

The shopper picks M, M, L and XL. All four get 20% off, each at its own variant’s price.

An add-on beside the tiers

Buy 2 10% off, plus a care kit offered as an add-on checkbox

The care kit is charged at its own price and its own discount; it doesn’t count toward the tier or take the 10%.

Setup

How to set it up.

  1. Create a Bundle campaign. Go to Campaigns → Create campaign, choose Bundle as the campaign type, then click Add offer.
  2. Choose Quantity breaks. Set Template to Quantity breaks (Buy 1 / Buy 2 / Buy N), then select the product. Allow all its variants or only the ones you choose.
  3. Set the tiers. Under Quantity tiers, Buy 1 stays at the regular price. Add up to three more tiers, each with a number of items up to 9, a price type — Regular price, Bundle total, Amount off or Percentage off — and an optional label of up to 40 characters.
  4. Save and wait for Live. Set the campaign to Active and save. The status shows Updating until Shopify confirms the discount, then Live.
  5. Add the product page block. In the theme editor, add the Bundle – product page block to the product template, then test a tier on your storefront through to checkout.

Good to know

Where it stops.

  • One product per offer, with two to four tiers and at most nine units.
  • The tier price applies only to units bought through the tiers. The same product added to the cart any other way is charged at its regular price.
  • Buy 1, and any tier left at the regular price, is an ordinary sale and isn’t counted as bundle revenue.
  • While the tiers are shown, the app hides the theme’s quantity selector and Buy it now, because Buy it now would check out without the tier.
  • Subscription products, product forms with file uploads and quick-view popups keep the theme’s own Add to cart.
  • It runs on Shopify Online Store themes and has been checked on Dawn and Horizon. Test it on your own theme before launch.

FAQ

Common questions.

Can shoppers mix variants in one tier?

Yes. Each unit has its own variant picker, so a Buy 3 can be three different sizes or colours. The discount is worked out on the exact variants picked.

How is this different from Tab Promo’s quantity tiers?

Quantity breaks are chosen on the product page, inside the Add to cart, for one product. Tab Promo’s quantity tiers are a cart discount: they count units per variant, per product or across a collection, however the items were added. For tiers across a collection, use Tab Promo.

Is the price on the tier exact?

Tiers you haven’t selected show a “from” price based on the cheapest variant. The selected tier shows the price for the variants picked, and every click on Add to cart checks it again; if the price has changed, nothing is added and the button shows the new total.

Does it create a bundle product or SKU?

No. The units are added as the real product, so Shopify keeps tracking its stock. The saving is applied as a Shopify discount.

Which plan do I need?

Every plan, including Free within its 50 orders every 30 days.
