Create a Bundle

Choose between a fixed product set, a configured bundle and quantity breaks, then set variants, pricing and the storefront blocks.

A Bundle offer sells products together at a set price. Every member can introduce the bundle on its product page; there is no separate primary-product or add-on role. The app never creates a bundle product or SKU: each piece stays its own cart line, and a Shopify discount applies the saving.

Two ways a bundle is priced

In the offer editor, Bundle mode decides how the price reaches the cart.

Bundle modeHoldsWhen the price applies
Fixed product setTwo to four distinct products, one of eachWhenever the cart holds every piece, however the pieces were added. The cart blocks can add a missing piece.
Configured quantities and choice poolsOne to nine requirements with quantities, each optionally a pool of productsOnly when the shopper builds the bundle in its own block. Items added another way never complete it.

The Quantity breaks template is a configured bundle over one product, so it follows the second row. Fixed product sets priced as a fixed total are worked out together across every live set, so a cart that could form more than one gets the lowest total. Sets priced with an amount off or a percentage off are matched within their own campaign.

Check access first

Confirm the shop’s current permissions and subscription state in the app. Bundles use their own storefront entitlement, which every plan includes. It covers the official product-page, cart-page, cart-drawer, and custom-spot surfaces, and SDK requests that resolve by spot key, along with the quotes they issue. The entitlement is withheld while a subscription is past due, canceled, expired, pending, or declined, and on Free while offers are paused for exceeding the order allowance. Every plan, including Free, allows unlimited bundle offers.

Only the custom-section API that selects explicit offer IDs requires API access, which Optimize provides when the subscription is eligible. See Plan access and analytics.

Choose products and variants

  1. Choose Create campaign → Bundle campaign, or choose Create bundle from Discovery.
  2. Select two to four distinct products using the product picker.
  3. For each product, allow all available variants or choose an explicit variant allow-list.
  4. Review every member and save the offer configuration.

With all available variants, the shopper sees current sellable choices. An allow-list is intersected with current Shopify availability. If a member has no eligible variant, the bundle is unavailable; the app does not substitute an unauthorized product or variant.

Configure pricing

Pricing modeMerchant intent
Fixed totalCharge a specified total for the selected set
Fixed amount offDeduct a specified amount from the regular total
Percentage offApply a percentage reduction to the selected set

The server uses current market prices and currency to quote the exact selection. A valid offer must produce positive savings below the regular total. For a fixed total or a fixed amount off, set an exact amount for each other Market currency; it is used as entered, never converted from an exchange rate. Configure it before serving a fixed-money offer in another market; missing facts must not be replaced with a browser estimate.

Add the product-page surface

Add the Bundle – product page app block to a compatible product template and save the theme. In the offer’s Product pages card, choose which member product pages show the bundle. On a member product’s page, the current source variant must be eligible. Other components start with an eligible selection that the shopper can change.

If several offers qualify, the published priority and order determine the first eligible offer. This is deterministic selection, not Upsell rotation or optimization.

To place a bundle elsewhere, add a spot key in the offer’s Spot keys card, then add the Bundle – custom spot block where the theme supports app blocks and enter the same key. Bundles that share a key appear together. For a fully custom Online Store section, use the Bundle SDK with a spot key or, on a plan with API access, explicit offer IDs.

Quantity breaks

Set Template to Quantity breaks (Buy 1 / Buy 2 / Buy N) to sell one product in tiers inside the product page’s own Add to cart form; the app adds no second buy button.

  • Pick one product and two to four tiers between Buy 1 and Buy 9. Buy 1 is always the regular price; later tiers stay at the regular price or take a fixed total, an amount off or a percentage off.
  • Shoppers choose a variant for every unit, so a Buy 4 can mix sizes.
  • The tier price applies only to units bought through the tiers. A regular-price tier is an ordinary sale and is not counted as Bundle revenue.
  • While the tiers are shown, the app hides the theme’s quantity selector and Buy it now, because Buy it now would check out without the tier.

Complete the set in the cart

For a fixed product set, add the Bundle – cart page block to the cart template and enable the Bundle – cart drawer app embed for compatible drawers. When the cart holds part of a set, the card names the missing items and adds exactly those in one click, so the bundle price applies however the other pieces were added. Configured bundles with choice pools are built in their own block (on the product page or a custom spot), not completed from the cart.

Test the complete selection

  1. Open a member product in the intended market and currency.
  2. Change a component’s variant and confirm the displayed selection and total update together.
  3. Confirm Add bundle stays disabled while the quote is pending or ineligible.
  4. Add the bundle and inspect every selected variant and quantity in the fresh Shopify cart.
  5. Test an unavailable variant and an expired quote; neither should remain purchasable on stale terms.
  6. Review bundle results separately from Upsell results, including refund adjustments.

If an add produces an uncertain or partial cart outcome, direct the shopper to review the cart instead of repeatedly adding another instance.

Boundaries

This workflow is not an inventory synchronization system or a replacement cart drawer. A fixed product set holds two to four products and is priced from the cart; a configured bundle holds up to nine components and, like quantity breaks, is priced only when the shopper completes it in its own block. It runs on Shopify Online Store surfaces; installing an SDK does not create headless or cross-origin API access.
