Why doesn’t Tab Promo add gifts to the cart automatically?
It is a deliberate choice. A gift that appears on its own can fight the shopper’s cart and theme. With Tab Promo the shopper claims the gift, and Shopify checkout decides whether it is free. If the cart later drops below the threshold, the gift is no longer free and the shopper is shown how to remove it.
